Stop Deceiving Plateau People over Probing of Jang Govt—Hon Dareng Tells Gov. Lalong

Member representing Jos South in Plateau State House Assembly, Hon Nyam Dareng has stated that former governor Jonah David Jang didn’t steal the resources of Plateau people but he rather worked toward developing the state.
Hon Nyam Dareng also told Governor Simon Lalong to stop deceiving the citizens of Plateau state with the investigative panel that can’t yield any positive result.
He pointed out that, Lalong is deceiving himself with the probing of Jang, the contracts of the PDP can speak for itself, and he carefully followed due process before the award of these contacts.
Hon Dareng cautioned that, the All Progressive Congress (APC) cannot provide the needed leadership that can reposition this country to achieve better productivity rather it has caused more havoc in the area of governance.
Speaking in exclusive interview to some session of journalists in his office at the Plateau State House of Assembly complex, Nyam Dareng reiterated the challenges people are being faced in the country under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari government.
He blamed the former governor Joshua Dariye for not making wider consultation with the people of his constituents before defecting to APC.
Hon Dareng accused Dariye of being a political prostitute who has been moving from one political party to another which is a clear demonstrations abandonment and poor non representation.
According to him, PDP would not regret the defection of the former governor because we are not surprise he has been playing hide and seek game for playing double role in the 2015 general elections defined Dariye program and policy.
Hon Dareng maintained that for the past 3 years of APC government they cannot identify any meaningful project either in Plateau state or at Federal level so you can see how Nigerians regretted voting for change government.
He asked Lalong that if he wants to investigate the immediate past government, he should start with Dariye because of his money laundering which start from 1999 down to the regime of Jang ,”I think you were not advice very well on this issue.
“I don’t think Lalong is going to achieve anything with the panel set up to investigate the government of Jang “, he added.
He emphasized that the reason why Nigerians vote for APC then, you know that APC has no foundation, people vote them because of the wild winds blowing across the states,  they never thought that they brought fake products into the market.

4 Trailers Loads Of Fertilizers Allegedly Disappeared On Arrival At PADP Office

Yakubu Busari Universal Reporters

Information available to universalreporters247.com four trailers loads of fertilizers allegedly went missing on Monday night at about 10pm to 12pm midnight on its arrival at the Plateau Agriculture Development programme (PADP) office in Dutse uku, Plateau State.
Our correspondent gathered that farmers who have registered to buy fertilizers at a subsidized rate of 4,000 naira per bag being the official price cannot get to buy the fertilizer for this farming season, owning to activities of wholesalers in the open market and those who allegedly hijacked the distribution.
One of those whose names appeared on the list revealed that for the past one week they were asked to go to PADP office to check their names and pay for the fertilizers, which turned out to be a fresh drama.
“We were told officially that some of the fertilizers were brought in, few days ago were diverted by unknown persons which has allegedly heightened fears among top government officials “, she explained.
It was gathered that those whose names were released cannot get the fertilizer due to the activities of middle men who have overran the office while the genuine peasant farmers will not get.
She lamented that it’s high time the state government take seriously a very important step of monitoring the distribution of fertilizers to local farmers at all levels to reduce activities of agencies involved in the diversion.
“We no longer believe that with our money we can afford getting the fertilizer because of what is going on here, you see people coming in the night to load fertilizers and before day break it would disappear inside the store house “, they explained.
“PADP staffs are the ones doing this, there was a lady who saw a wristwatch being wore by someone, but when she asked the man of the price which she was told is 50,000 the lady converted it to fertilizer worth. What is this world turning into?
“We are worried that government officials keep doing this without them being punished, so one wonders whether they are aware of the plight of average villagers who are suffering and dying in silent.
“We are appealing to Governor Simon Lalong, as a matter of urgency to address the dangerous activities of defaulters of government plan and help us common people.
In an effort to speak with the permanent secretary of the ministry of Agriculture, Mr John Kum, calls made to his phone were not answered as he didn’t also reply a text message forwarded to him.
It would be recalled the Plateau state government under the able leadership of Governor Simon Bako Lalong agenda of revamping the agricultural sector to boost the state internally generated revenue will also suffer another setback, as a group of cartels in the business of buying and selling has been fingered for diverting these fertilizers.
It is also a sad moment that the Governor’s desire to promote agriculture and encourage more participation of youths in that sector may not  yield any positive impact due to high level of corruption and none availability of the fertilizers , following connection by senior citizens.

According to the Governor in his speech during the opening ceremony is to “stand out as an open manifestation of the peace that has returned to Plateau and the existence of an environment that is fertile for business investments”.
To further showcase that peace has returned, the governor said on good authority, that Indians and Pakistanis are among the over 700 exhibitors who have graced the on-going state Trade Fair.
The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Prof. Sunni Tyoden, at the occasion said, the Theme for this year’s Fair in the state is: “Promoting Entrepreneurship through Medium and Small enterprises for Economic Development”
“Today marks yet another milestone in our Administration’s effort to boost commerce and stimulate industrial growth in our State. The successful hosting of this year’s Trade Fair, the first under this administration, stands out as an open manifestation of the peace that has returned to Plateau and the existence of an environment that is fertile for business investments.
“I have it on sound Authority that among the over 700 exhibitors we have in this year’s Trade Fair, there are  entrepreneurs and representatives of business conglomerates from Pakistan, India, Egypt and others within the West African sub-region.
“I am sure, having assessed our business environment; these exhibitors have found out that there is market for their products and that the security of their lives and property will sufficiently be guaranteed, hence their presence at the Trade Fair. I therefore salute the presence of all the exhibitors and I dare to say, your presence will open our business environment positively to the Global Business Community.
‘The Theme for this year’s Fair: “Promoting Entrepreneurship through Medium and Small enterprises for Economic Development” is apt and it succinctly captures Government’s Policy drive towards industrialization and entrepreneurship. We have repeatedly reiterated that our areas of comparative advantages as a State reside in Agriculture, Tourism and Solid Mineral Development. For this, we are opening up the economic space and exploring all avenues to ensure we stimulate Industrial revolution in these sectors. Industrialization as a change and transformation agent, presents us with the ample opportunity to address the yearning gap of unemployment, the endemic rate of poverty, increasing revenue generation and rural infrastructural development, and also meeting the growing challenge of rural – urban migration”.
